PFS with PM Capital

Following strong returns for the 2021 calendar year where markets in US and in Australia were up north of 20%, the stock market has experienced a volatile January to start 2022. For the month of January, the S&P 500 was down more than 5%, the NASDAQ down nearly 9%, the ASX 200 was down more than 6%.

To discuss the recent downturn in the markets and more, it was great to be joined in this podcast by Paul Moore, Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager from PM Capital and Kevin Bertoli, Portfolio Manager for PM Capital.

PM Capital’s fund has outperformed the market in the month of January, with positive returns in a month where the market was negative, so we discuss how PM Capital portfolio positioning helped them to navigate the market in the past month. After discussing the volatile start to 2022 for the stock market, we discuss where to from here for the markets and whether the recent sell-off was buying opportunity for stocks. We move on to discuss PM Capital’s positive outlook for value sectors of the market moving forward.

We hope you enjoy the discussion.
